I think even went I’m 30 and I’ll have (probably) grown up and I’ll have settled down and everything will be all serious and shit
I’ll find this video and just freeze
and I’ll remember how I was stood in a new city with my two best friends and two people who I didn’t know but i have turned out to be such good friends, all because of some dumb american guy who we fought tooth and nail to see. and we’d been queuing for so long and we were all exhausted and then he came on and we spent the hour singing and laughing and hugging and crying and then crying some more because we were all emotional for different reasons, but he was our hero and we were finally seeing him.
and then he stepped away from the microphone and asked the PA guys to turn his guitar down and we were so close that we could hear his voice crystal clear and he was there and we all couldn’t stop giggling and staring on with wide-eyed awe but thats what he made you do. He makes you forget all of the bad things and he makes you smile, forget about everything else thats going on, forget about the things that make you upset and makes you focus on the things that make you happy.
I keep saying it, but even when I’m 30, or 40, or 50, or 80, I don’t think I’ll ever forget this gig.
