I’m Jessi, I'm 17, and welcome to my corner of the internet.
This is my place to vent and rant and talk about my favourite things which include McFly, Darren Criss, Glee, Chris Colfer, Team Starkid, The Book of Mormon and various comedians.
I have a face and sometimes I post photos that can be found if you click here!
I like going to gigs and meeting people, and Tom Fletcher and Darren Criss are my heroes.
I like to keep this a positive place, and if you ever need anyone to talk to, I am always here. Remember, you’re not alone.
Thanks for joining me in this wierd and wonderful place, be sure to say hi!
I did this for Darren’s gig the other week, so I really wanted to do one for Glee as well. If anything is so I don’t forget things, but its so I can look back and remenisce on what was, no doubt, one of the best concerts I’ve been to. All songs are in setlist order. & under a read more because the set was like, 20 songs in length…
In all honesty, when we got to the arena, we were all fed up. I’m not going into details as to why, because if you know me you know what happened, but I was so fed up. but then we were walking down to our seats, and we were 6th row, not 12th! so amazing!
There was some technical difficulties with the house lights and at one point they thought that they might have to cancel the show but thankfully they didn’t!
Don’t Stop Believing
You could barely hear the VT of Matt and Jane because of how loud everyone was screaming. I think this was a moment I won’t forget. seeing the curtain come up and watching them all turn around one by one, especially Chris. I genuinely thought i’d broken my vocal chords from screaming so loud for him……… :’) They have such an amazing dynamic as a group, and you can’t deny the ridiculous talent that they all have, but especially Lea & Cory.
Dog Days are Over
This was probably one of my favourite songs of the setlist. It is so clear how close the cast are in this song, they basically just dance and joke around. Plus, Chris did his aeroplane move when he was running out of the curtains and I’m pretty sure I passed out from the cuteness. & I did the “can you hear the horses” move along with Naya & Lea & the guys next to us looked at me wierdly~
Sing
I’m gonna be honest, this was probably my least favourite song. It was still obviously amazing, but yeah. I really liked the ~dramatic lighting though, & chris was doing some wierd running man move that I was pretty much dying over. It was also really, really, really fun to belt out :)
Slave 4 U
HOT. DAMN. Just, fucking hell. There will never be anyone as sexy as Heather Morris. I pretty much spent the whole of it just going “oh my god how is that allowed” at Josie. All admiration aside, she sung it live! i was so shocked! and no matter your opinion on Heather herself, you can’t deny that she is a CRAZY talented dancer. I wish I could dance that well, but she does honestly inspire me to be a better dancer.
Fat Bottomed Girls
First song on the back stage, so we couldn’t exactly see very well but there was screens so it wasn’t too bad. It was the first time we saw Ashley, and she is SO freaking pretty! its depressing! I had fun watching Harry doing whatever the fuck he wanted & Cory drumming is one of the most attractive sights ever. The dancers were also on bikes which made no sense whatsoever in my head but yanno…
I Wanna Hold Your Hand
Oh. My. God. I could write an essay on this, but I’m just gonna keep it short.
Just, wow. I do not care if I’m biased, Chris Colfer is honestly one of the most beautiful human beings on this earth. He has such a pure and incredible voice, and the amount of emotion he puts into every song is amazing. He kept giggling and saying “hi sweetie” to random people and I’m pretty sure I was gonna die from cute overload. Safe to say that I was in tears from the minute I saw his silhouette…
Aint No Way
So, I was already an emotional wreck after IWHYH, and then Amber does this. WOW. I just, wow. In my opinion she has the best voice out of all of the girls. The high note that she does when she sings “don’t you know that I need you” always has and always will leave me breathless. I don’t think I will ever forget seeing this song live and how incredible Amber is.
P.Y.T
MY JAAAAAM! Its no secret that I am fully in love with Kevin Mchale~ He is so sassy and cool and just ugh, i love him :’) I don’t think I will ever get over how incredible Harry & Kevin are together, Kevin’s voice and Harry’s dance ability mesh so well together. The backing dancers were incredible as well, and this was truly such a good tribute to Michael.
Born This Way
Christopher fucking Colfer, man. Pretty sure my brain short circuited, HE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THAT WITH HIS HIPS. I love this cover so much, it was so fun to dance around and basically celebrate what glee represents; the underdog. Being in a room full of people all singing their hearts out has never felt so right to me. I also absolutely ADORE how BTW runs into Firework so seamlessly :3
Firework
I’ll be the first person to admit that I fucking hate Lea’s cover of this song, but I surprisingly loved it live! The pyrotechnics were a bit much but hey, they were pretty impressive. I’m gonna be honest, I spent most of this song preparing for the next one…
Teenage Dream
If you’d have told me 8 months ago that I’d be stood with two of my best friends watching the Warblers live, I’d have laughed in your face. Even when we started our petition, I still wasn’t sure. But on the 22nd June, I got to see them. Riker & Curt & Titus & Jon. & Darren. I heard Darren say “Good evening Manchester” and burst out crying, and I honestly can’t remember much of TD because I was focussing on trying to believe that this was actually fucking happening. I do, however, remember Riker doing the “skintight jeans” dance move that he does and nearly collapsing from how attractive it was ;D I don’t need to turn this into a Darren appreciation post as my life basically is that, but yeah. I just love how much joy and light he brings into my life. :3
Silly Love Songs
I am still so shocked that they did this! This is my favourite song ever performed on the show, and its sort of mine and Josie’s song. I just love it so much. They came onto the main stage for this and that was when it hit me that oh my god, this is actually happening. Darren did his whole drop to his knees thing and I thought i’d had a heart attack, I don’t know when I suddenly developed a thing for Darren falling to his knees but apparrently I have~. It was such an amazing moment to see them all looking so right on a stage in front of thousands and thousands of people. I am so proud of them.
Raise Your Glass
Once again, a massive celebration of the underdog. Danced and screamed and sung like my life depended on it, and I don’t regret one thing. It was such a fun song. We all just stood doing the actions along with Darren whilst being judged by everyone around us~ Like Darren has said, seeing everyone jumping and singing and “raising their glass” during the concert, I don’t think thats a moment I will ever forget.
Happy Days/Get Happy
I love Chris & Lea’s voices together so much. They blend so well & after Glee it is so clear that they both belong on broadway. I can’t really remember much of this either due to trying to get my breath back from the past 3 songs, this seems like a reoccuring pattern~
Lucky
Least favourite song. I’m just gonna say it. I don’t desperately like Chord but I do like the song. Chord started playing the guitar before the track actually started so I spent the rest of the song just laughing…. Dianna is ridiculously elegant and pretty though :3
River Deep, Mountain High
THEY DID RDMH OH MY DAAAAYS! This is my favourite song other than SLS, so I was so happy to see this. Naya and Amber are so electric together, and its so clear that they love their job. The backing dancers did an incredible job as well! Doing the dance along with them has to be a highlight of my year, ngl.
Klaine Skit
My otp is a glorious thing~ Its not secret how much I love the Klaine skit, and it involved me, Kimi & Josie just standing & quoting it/shouting stuff at “Blainers” (the klaine skit is the only thing that I class Chris & Darren as Kurt & Blaine). I honestly can’t even remember what it was about on our date, something about a dog i think…… but Chris’ bicycle kicks were A+.
Jesse’s Girl
CORY MONTEITH LET ME LOVE YOU. I know I keep saying everything was my favourite performance, but seriously, THIS SONG! I’m not even sure why, theres just something about this song that makes me so happy. Cory has such an incredible voice and I think, even though he does sing alot on Glee, that the actual quality of it is overlooked alot of the time.
Valerie
Naya has one of the best voices I’ve heard in my opinion. It has such a unique tone to it, and she truly did this song justice. Heather and Harry’s jive dancing in this was absolutely insane, no matter how many times I see them perform this I will always, always, always be in awe of them.
Loser Like Me
Group performance aka Tin Tin and friends….. I will forever laugh at Darren’s outfit they put him in, bless. I also spent alot of it laughing because Darren, once again, did the “L” sign the wrong way around. I know that its such a cliche and cheesy song, but I love it so much. I have no problems in admitting that I am such a loser, and as I have mentioned before, it all just felt like one massive party of celebrating how much of a loser you are and yeah! :D
Single Ladies Dance
MOTHER OF GOD. CHRIS COLFER’S EVERYTHING.
That is all.
No but seriously the image of Chris Colfer grinding his hips right in front of me will forever be burnt into my mind. and I’m completely fine with that.
Safety Dance
Kevin Mchale, just let me love you down. I am honestly so gutted that they cast him in a wheelchair because he is such an amazing dancer. He oozes with confidence and swag and with anyone else that could come across as really arrogant, but not with Kevin. Riker was also dancing & if you know me then you’ll know how much I love Riker dancing! Overall a very, very impressive performance.
Empire State of Mind
THIS CAST HAVE SWAG. sdjkhskdjfhskdjfhskjdfhk I love this performance so much. Theres the people like Harry and Jenna and Chris who have this certain presence of them that totally fits any song, and then theres people like Darren and Cory who just look like little lost puppies, bless. & Lea was just at the back doing whatever she wanted, haha. In all seriousness though, I love this version of the song!
Somebody to Love
EMOTIONAL. BREAKDOWN. From hearing the first note, I was completely gone. This song once again reminds me just how strong they are as friends. I’d watched the original performance the day before and it was incredible to see just how much they had all matured as actors, and obviously there was the addition of Darren. I can’t put into words how proud I am of him and how happy it makes me to see that he’s fitting in with the cast etc. Amber did her high note and that was when it properly hit me that they were all actually stood in front of me, and I just started sobbing. I’d spent so long trying to get to that concert, and there I was with my best friends. I still can’t quite comprehend it. During the ending when they were saying their goodbyes, Darren saw me crying & blew me a kiss which made me even worse and I spent about ten minutes after the concert just sobbing in Maaria’s arms. :’)
I am so glad that I got the chance to see this tour. Who knows, they may tour next year, they may not. I might suddenly hate the show altogether and never want anything to do with it. But I know one thing, and that is that 22nd June was something incredibly special.
